The 35th Annual International Seating Symposium (ISS) will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.There will be a Pre-Symposium Workshop on March 18 and March 19, followed by the 3-day Symposium.
Pre-Symposium Workshops March 18-19, 2019: ISS Tech Training Workshops
U.S. Rehab will be supporting the Pre-Symposium Tech Training workshop that will take place both Monday, March 18 and Tuesday,March 19 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This is an 8-hour workshop will look at the technical aspects of many different manual and power wheelchairs. Electronic and mechanical components, as well as, troubleshooting skills and steps to identify issues and solve problems will be addressed.

Documentation LIFE Preserver: March 21, 2019 at 3:15-4:15 (IC63)
In this interactive workshop, participants will gain insight into third party payers’ documentation requirements for mobility assistive equipment (MAE) and related accessories, including seating and positioning products. The instructor, a former Medicare director, will share what third party payers’ internal thought process is and what is expected from therapists in order to approve a claim. This course will teach attendees how to effectively and efficiently document the medical necessity for mobility assistive equipment and related accessories for those that clearly qualify and reduce the time spent on documentation thus preserving the LIFE you chose to be a therapist.
• List two items third party payers are looking for when reviewing mobility claims
• Identify three necessary language components for a comprehensive evaluation for the purpose of third party reimbursement
• List three key components of a successful wheelchair assessment to ensure your patient receives the medically necessary product in a timely manner
